For the final meeting of the year, Roger is going to talk about Google Maps, and how useful they can be. I remember after he returned from a holiday in Asia, he told us how helpful they had been for finding out-of-the-way places in countries he had never visited before. I have previously been advising members that the meetings' start time is 6.00 pm. That was designed to allow people to come along half an hour earlier for a chat before the meeting actually started. I have been asked to amend that time to 6.30 pm. As always, it is in the basement at Ron Oliver's home, 39 Washington Avenue, Brooklyn.
Usually, at this time of the year, we have drinks and nibbles before the meeting. This year, however, that will not happen. Anne Duncan, who buys the non-alcoholic beverages and food to eat, is going into hospital to have heart surgery just prior to this meeting, so we decided to forgo that part of it. We wish Anne well with the operation and hope she will be back to her former self afterwards, although we realise there will be a period of recuperation..
The club would like to take this opportunity of wishing all members the compliments of the season.
